Search Tips
Audiobooks are spoken recordings of printed books. Oakland Public Library provides audiobooks on CD-ROM and cassette tape as well as downloadable audiobooks that can be "checked out" onto your computer.
Search for audiobooks as you would a printed book:
- Words in the Title searches for words in titles and series titles. Example: call of the wild. You can enter words in any order
- Author/Reader searches for books by the name of the author or reader.
- I Want Books About searches all fields. Example: california travel
- Refine Your Search: Click to check or uncheck the kinds of audiobooks you want to find (Book on CD, Book on Tape, or Downloadable Audiobook). You can search for more than one kind at a time by checking multiple boxes.
- Click here for more information on how to find and use downloadable audiobooks.
- For a more complete search for specific short stories, poems or plays, search their titles as keywords in Advanced Search.
